Executive Summary
Collective Power envisions a world where reproductive freedom is a human right and the many conditions necessary to attain it are available to all, regardless of race, ethnicity, class, gender, immigration status, or sexual orientation. To achieve this, we must amplify new voices, pursue new strategies, and win broader support. Our goal is to equip new generations of activists and build a vital and effective movement for reproductive justice.
We are a leadership pipeline and training ground for progressive movements. We mobilize, educate, and inspire 1,000 student and community activists each year through our annual activist conference and other campus programs, and provide transformative, hands-on experience for undergraduate students through paid summer internships at reproductive and social justice organizations across the country.
We seek to transform the way individuals and organizations think about and advance reproductive and sexual freedom. Through popular education projects, well-researched publications, and cross-movement scholar/activist collaborations, we seed new approaches to sexual and reproductive health that uphold a radical vision for justice and address the interconnectedness of systems of oppression.
We are a trusted connector and convener, creating spaces to build unity, alignment, and cross-movement solidarities. We create inclusive spaces for intergenerational learning, networking, and organizing through our conference and emerging leaders programs.
Women of color lead our work: our executive director, and 80% of our program leaders, are women of color, and over half of our board identifies as women of color.
