Executive Summary
At the Global Education Movement (GEM), an initiative of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), we create higher education pathways that prepare refugees to become agents of change.
GEM serves more than 2,600 students in Africa and the Middle East. We support graduates, over half of whom are women, to access dignified work. Median time to graduate with a BA is under four years and 85% of graduates report that they have meaningful full-time work.
Higher education is an incredibly durable solution. Whether they remain in a host country, repatriate or resettle to another country, our graduates have a recognized credential, opening doors to higher earnings and creating ripple effects that benefit entire communities.
